Woke up within a normal temperature tent – whooo!! Got a chance to get on skype and talk to parents, although pretty bleary eyed and sleepy looking! We then headed into Invercargill to pick up out last few christmas things, items to make a christmas log cake! More wine, crackers and petrol!! Though not to all be eaten together!! We then drove along the coastal road all the way to Manapouri, somewhere we had been would be great for Christmas, and we arrived and checked into our lakeview room, nothing flash but had large windows overlooking the lake which had an incredible backdrop of snow capped mountains!!! Our room was great, had a little kitchen, living space, bathroom with hairdryer and queen size bed!! Ahhh the joys of no tent!! We drove into Te Anau to pick up some fish and chips! And spent the afternoon with a bottle of wine, making a christmas log, watching A Knights Tale – the christmas film on tv! And wrapping and decorating!! On the drive we kept our eyes out for an improntu christmas tree!! There were forests full of them and some small scraggly ones growing on the roadside one of which with the help of our swiss army knife was ours!! Not the not perfect christmas tree but definitely does the job!!! Had a great night chilling out :D
