We hopped on a little boat to Bounty that picked us up literally on the beach outside our accomodation! A short boat ride and we arrived at Bounty island! From a distance the island was picture perfect, a tiny little island dotted in the ocean, white sand all the way around with a nice green middle! And we loved our time here! It was just amazing having nothing to do but sit on a beach, borrow some free snorkels, relax and be fed really well at very regular intervals! And that’s exactly what we did!!
It was excellent weather the first day, we saw a really cute reef shark, did some snorkelling and saw a stingray plus lots of little cute fish, played on the beach, with a nice little break for lunch (bbq’d lamb and ribs plus tons of buffet stuff!) and afternoon tea (tea and biscuits! Result!!) more sea and sun, then a nice shower and back out for a really good dinner! We were seriously happy, had a perfect day, and had a couple of drinks and somehow it was late….
The next day we dragged ourselves out for breakfast (7.30-9.30….) and then went back to bed for a little more sleep in our nice dorm! The rest of the day was spent back on the beach, and mainly in the sea, we went for a walk all the way around the island hehe to find celebrity love island set which we found out from a nice girl we met was filmed just around the island! Somehow we didn’t find it though!! We saw a pretty derelict building and a washed up jetty though… turned out it all got destroyed in a cyclone! Anyway we made the most of the sea as we could see a huge storm over nadi that looked like it was approaching, and took some pictures before it rained as we hadn’t taken any so far! Easy to forget! About 5ish it started to rain so we headed in and we had a good shower etc while the rain poured, and then dug out our rain mac’s to run to where dinner was!! It was truly pouring!! It didn’t last forever though and about 10 it’d passed, and we watched the staff sing a couple of local songs and played some games. The staff were really great here, and we sat on a table with a Brazilian couple who were playing their version of rumney and asked us to join them and we stayed up into the morning playing cards with them! They were buying coke and pouring in their sneaked in cachaça and we were buying lemonade with our sneaked in vodka!
Had a great day and night and were sad to get up super early the next day to go to Botaira… This would be interesting, I’d found it, liked the sound of it despite some mixed reviews and booked us in, so hopefully it’d be great, the nice factor being that nothing can ever be too bad when your on a beautiful tropical island!
