Gorgeous stay on an Estancia!

We were up early to ring Fedrico to reconfirm our transfer was coming and thankfully all was set and at a good price! It wasnt cheap but this was something we really wanted to do so the price wasnt really an issue now. We got our pick up at 10am, and before that we had to rush and book our bus north for Route 40 and also pack! We got picked up on time and it took about 3 and half hours to get there. It was an amazing drive with so much or even so little to see out the windows, nothing on the horizon, just more land and mountains, only passing a few estancias the whole way. We was glad we didn’t hire a car to do it as it was def 4×4 land! It was crazy to think that you could drive so long and not pass anything for so long, it was like driving to manchester from home to get to a farm and only passing 3 along the way! We arrived to some very confused staff that weren’t expecting any new arrivals today but after showing them some emails confirmed it all was ok. The building we were staying in was gorgeous, and the room, absolutely gorgeous. We wondered around outside for an hour taking in the views and the space then we came back to a open fire, tea and home made chocolates… It is absolutely perfect here, your a million miles away from the outside world and its just the best feeling ever! I really loved the feeling of being here, hard to imagine liking a city so much again when the feeling of all this space, nothingness and beauty is so amazing! We spent the evening and dinner with a couple from Norway that were also staying there, shared out our wine and the people that worked there joined us after dinner. Was all most in Spanish, Clare got the drift of most of it but was hard not talking it, I enjoyed the wine and the fire and then the electric went off at 11 so we had candles to light our way and had a great night sleep in a huge comfy bed, thinking we could stay here for a very long time!

We were up for breakfast with the couple from Holland, discussing the falkland islands! We then had the day horseriding. The horseriding route wen right up onto the cliffs, seriously steep uphill! Through forest to some amazing views over a tourquoise lake! The way back, a different route was even better, very steep down, mud trees (I almost got decapitated!) river crossings, galloping and beach! Clare´s horse was good at climbing, always hungry!! Though did take a big of encouraging to gallop, but she loved the feeling of galloping, wind through the hair just like in a film! We chilled out in the evening, had a lovely dinner, just us! Accidently got the expensive bottle of wine opened for us which was great! It really was so amazing feeling so relaxed.

The next morning we had a good breakie, said bye to our great room, and our pick up arrived about 3 hours late which was really frustrating, we couldnt now do our overnight trek it´d have to be one long day tomorrow. We even got cooked a yum lunch at the estancia though while waiting! And we were soon back off to the real world…..
